Statement of Purpose

After more than five years working in IT and web development, I entered into an MBA program in 2004 to pursue my interest in larger-context decision making. Now, I am looking to use my strong combination of experience and education in an organization that needs someone who can make business-sensitive IT decisions that are strategically and contextually sensitive.

While Information Technology composes the foundation of my knowledge, it does not represent the limitations of my ability. I have evaluated business plans, performed cost-benefit analyses and created market analyses for use by a premier venture capital firm in Philadelphia. A position based purely in Information Technology does not fully utilize my capabilities. I am an intuitive thinker, the kind of person who will find unusual patterns and solutions to seemingly ordinary problems. As such, I am seeking a position that requires contextual understanding and decision-making in performing daily operations.

After much personal contemplation, I see two most likely variety of organization where I would be able to serve as a noteworthy asset:

• A small company seeking to make an IPO with need for an internal IT strategist who possesses a solid understanding of business principles and problem-solving skills. Though the company would be seeking to go IPO in the next couple of years, it is at the crossroads of initiating internal procedural change in order to facilitate this move.
  
• A large international company with strong global IT coordination needs. This company would have an ever-growing need for business-savvy IT professionals who have a proven track record of working with clients and establishing requirements and specifications to be implemented by an international team of developers or outsourcers.

I recognize that numerous opportunities exist outside of these two suggestions and I am not averse to other alternatives.
